Building an addition is more complicated than building a house. The existing house must be protected during excavation. The new addition has to integrate with the existing house in a way that looks natural, is structurally sound, waterproof and airtight. It’s not uncommon to uncover problems with the existing structure that must also be corrected during these projects.

Finishing existing space is less expensive but sometimes there isn’t enough or the right space. Putting an addition on allows you to remain in your community, and it’s more cost effective than selling your home and moving to a new house.
